About this place
At Yakiniku Ryu, salted beef tongue and cold noodles are two dishes that stand out. One diner who visits often with family says the tongue is a favourite; another enjoyed both the charcoal-grilled yakiniku and the cold noodles.
Alongside salted tongue, the grilled selection includes premium tongue, skirt steak, loin, short ribs and bone-in short ribs, making it easy to choose different cuts and cook them at the table. One diner recalls grilling the bone-in short ribs over charcoal until they had a little char. The same diner found the cheek meat notably thick-cut and was also impressed by the premium omasum and large-intestine offal. Those looking to add offal to familiar cuts could try the cheek, omasum or large intestine.
For a final dish, choose from cold noodles, bibimbap, gukbap or steamed white rice. One diner recommends pairing the cold noodles with the meat's sweet sauce, making them an option for anyone who would like something refreshing after the grilled meat.
Napa cabbage kimchi and cucumber kimchi are available to enjoy between bites of meat, while the soup selection includes egg, wakame seaweed and oxtail. Those who fancy a drink with their meal can choose draft beer or a chūhai, including lemon and fresh-grapefruit versions.
Dinner is served from 18:00 to 22:00, and the restaurant is closed on Tuesdays. Reservations are accepted; one diner recommends booking for a weekend visit.
